2's Too Strong for Grange

They say you shouldn't believe what the papers say and in this case you certainly shouldn't!!!

Although many papers talked of the surprise upset where Grange 3's managed to get one over on us they can only wish that had been the case. Unfortunately for them our bowlers were yet again on fire leaving the Grange batsmen little opportunity to score runs off the bat.

Bammo and Giggsy opened up and it wasn't long before they were in their stride. Giggsy was first to strike as Mountstephen clipped one to Sean Hoffmann at square leg. Giggsy struck again in the next over removing Grange skipper Turnbull for just 3.

The book says he was out lbw but mention must go to Tim as he took a blinding catch at short leg, opinion is dived on whether he should have been out lbw or ct. We are still unsure if it hit bat or pad first!

Grange on 7 for 2 with opening pair removed.

Bammo got in on the action next as he bowled Croal who decide that the straight one was going to miss the sticks. Unfortuntely for him he was wrong.

Potter and Tim into the attack. Tim getting a nick to Jason in at slip meant he got his only wicket of the day on his 4th delivery.

Potter was to have better luck as he took 3 for 17 in his 10 over spell. The best of them being an excellent catch by wicket keeper Robin Yellowlees who had to turn and chase one over his head.

Tyson got the opportunity for quick spell and was reward with the fantastic figures of 2 for 4. AJ also sneaked in with a quick wicket at the end.

Grange all out for 62.

Hoffy and Jason started off the innings well and nudged us along to 35 before the Kiwi was caught in the covers for 18.

Tyson and Hoffmann continued but where a little bit frustrated by Radford and Powell who had been bowling some pretty tight lines.

Sean was out for 21 as he succumbed to Radford.

Tyson followed him 2 overs later but not before admiring Tims massive 6 to the long square leg boundary.

Gus and Tim tied the score up with some quick singles. Tim wanting to make totally sure of the final result spanked Radford for 6 over mid on.

Lions 68 for 3.

20 points for the Lions... not 2 like the papers say... sorry to dissapoint you Penicuik boys!!
